Asleid has an oval shaped face with prominent cheekbones and a wider forehead; her features gracefully taper towards her chin. Her evenly spaced, steely grey eyes sit naturally below dark, defined eyebrows that make her appear stern at a glance. Symmetrical Fremennik markings are tattooed across her forehead, nose, cheeks, and lower lip, making her easy to recognize; she is also missing part of her left earlobe. Despite her tough facade, she is viewed by most as being youthfully beautiful, even in her old age.

The solid, beautiful structure of Asleid's face is merely a reflection of her attractively tall and dignified frame. Wide hips support long, powerful legs that culminating in a firm, toned posterior. Her stomach and upper body is also trim and muscle-bound, contrasting her voluminous chest. In moderation, tattoos cover her entire body, the most notable of which is an archaic depiction of a double headed dragon that is wreathed around the back of her neck and shoulders.

Asleid is a natural leader, and she is often viewed as cold and stern, but equally fair and just in her judgements. She cares deeply for her family and people and is willing to lay down her life for their benefit, exemplifying both honour and reliability, as well as the soldier in her. The traditions of the Fremennik people are greatly valued by her, though she is not over zealous like most of her generation; when it comes to politics she strives for freedom of choice within the parameters of Fremennik law and is open to introducing diversity to the isles, especially the people of the Moon Clan. In battle, Asleid channels the deep, berserk rage of the ancient Fremennik raiders and is more bloodthirsty than many of her male counterparts; through this ferocity, she has won the loyalty of Neitiznot, and the respect of the Chieftain of Rellekka.
However, Asleid's private life is no secret; she is known for entertaining guests and offering great hospitality within her hall and at Neitiznot's hot springs. Away from the public, she presents herself with serenity, charm, and flirtatiousness towards both men and women that she finds attractive.
