I know a lot of people have issues finding the outfits they want, so here is a thread to share issues with costumes and ideas to help each other out with their issues.
For example:
I would like to rant about the fact that RS lacks a decent labcoat costume that I can find! If anyone has any cool ideas for one please share them! I have been trying to find a good-looking labcoat outfit for my scientist character and have yet to find anything.
I really think they need to update a lot of their clothing. Like those two you mentioned would have looked great back when they first came out, but alongside the stuff they have now? They are kind of trash-looking. :/
Western Captain's in the silver one (which is actually white) is your best bet.
There should be a lab coat as a quest item. The quest could be a reference to Breaking Bad and it would require at least 70 Herblore. The player could keep the lab coat afterwards and we could use it in all kinds of roleplay.
Storyline about selling cursed crystals the elves, anyone?

Oh, I'm very unpleased with my favorite robes. Rather, the magic cape. BOTH new and retro magic capes clip with Spiritbloom robes, and Spiritbloom is so generically mage-like that this is just a travesty.

This is unrelated but I find it exceptionally tacky when people wear the top and bottom of the same outfit as a costume. It's twice as worse when they use the full outfit. "Do you have any creativity in you whatsoever?" I often find myself pondering, but always come to the same conclusion; nope!
I've heard other people say that. I mean, did you run out of things to cry about? Grow up.
Hah, but for real, I feel you. But some pieces just don't match anything else at all, namely the newest outfit pieces. Ever since Jag started using the new material/texture system, the new outfits just don't cooperate. This Elven Mage top here isn't going with anything else besides its bottom.
Then you also have those off-colored outfits like Cursed Reaver. That's a pisser. Or even those single color pieces like Zarosian Shadow. (but I bought a matching dye. Solomon is love)

The most annoying thing is the inability to change the color of trims. It means stuff like Dervish looks weird with the wrong colors cause it has consistently bright red legs.
